Radon Monitors). We also provide test kits from independent, reputable
third-party labs. One is included with each radon system.
Accustar alpha track device - 91 to 365 days
The
standard post-mitigation test. After your system is installed, use this
to get unbiased verification of its long-term effectiveness. Read the
included instructions. Wait at least 48 hours after the fan is turned
on before beginning the test.
Alpha track devices are convenient in terms of test conditions
and the results are very useful because they can average entire seasons
or years into a single result.
Accustar liquid scintillation device - 48 to 96 hours Easy to use, short-term test kits. Read the instructions on the manufacturer website.
Two can be used at the same time, in the same place, and the results
averaged to improve accuracy. After the exposure is complete, seal them
and send them to the lab immediately.
Radstar continuous radon monitor - 48 hours or more
Electronic devices that take discrete radon measurements every
hour along with temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure.
Preferred for real estate testing. They can be very accurate and
generate a wealth of information, but they must be calibrated annually.
Each monitor should be marked with its serial number and proof of calibration.
